Meet some of the new faces you’re seeing around the table.

As you may know, one of the big goals for our Board this year has been to grow our community. In fact, that is probably the goal (stated or not) of just about every Board in existence. We have been very fortunate this year to welcome so many new people into our group. Each person we add brings new ideas, new viewpoints, and even new opportunities for success.

This month is no different.

In our January meeting, in addition to all the great information we can expect from John Molidor, our national NSA President, we also have the opportunity to celebrate two rising speakers, Deneen Troupe-Buitrago, M.Ed and Paul Garwood, who have committed to our community and to themselves by joining in the fun of NSA Michigan.

We will be inducting them into our community at our January seminar. Please come to cheer them on and give them your support. Here’s a little more about Deneen and Paul.

Deneen Troupe-Buitrago, M.Ed

Deneen, while already an accomplished speaker has joined us as the newest in our growing cohort of Professional Candidates. For those who aren’t aware, our Professional Candidate designation is an opportunity for aspiring speakers to gain some of the benefits of our association as they work toward full Professional Membership. In return for their commitment to that process we will advise, assist, and make them aware of every opportunity they have to achieve that goal.

Titus 2:7-8 (ESV) says, “Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.”

Deneen has reached a place where all aspects of her life have come together: academic, business, and spiritual. Through her program, “Grow From Your Overflow”, Deneen works with her clients (professional women in particular) to transform their personal and professional lives. As a Christian-Faith Development Strategist she helps them understand themselves better.

Paul Garwood

When I spoke with Paul, he told me that he is not a dabbler. That’s why he applied to become our very first Academy Member. Unlike our Professional Candidates, Paul has already joined at the National level and is thus considered a full member of our Chapter, with all the benefits that come with that.

Paul has over 15 years of experience as a speaker. In addition to his Academy Membership with NSA, Paul is also a Qualified Speaker with Toastmasters District 28. While his background is in medical records management, he’s found his true calling as a Holistic Motivational Speaker and Purpose Coach.

Paul seeks to inspire, guide and motivate people to develop as a whole person, also to find their purpose and to live their best purpose filled life. He will do this from personal experience, life principles and heart centered personal engagement. He is amazed at the power of words and how simple words from a stranger on a stage or as a coach can reach into the very depths of someone’s heart and give them the courage to develop their wholeness and find there purpose. He was born to do this. He was born to help people. He is just a vessel for something bigger. He delivers a message people really need to hear in this moment. How to develop the whole person. How to find your purpose and passion. How to transform and restore your life.

If you see Deneen and/or Paul at one of our upcoming seminars, be sure to give them a hearty NSA Michigan welcome and encourage them in their continued success.
