Ever the numbers guy, speaker, author, and international networking genius, Greg Peters enlightened NSA-Michigan Speakers Academy Participants with the many levels of organization that allow him to run a professional and successful speaking business. During this informative webinar on July 10, he shared the checklists, templates, and systems that he uses to keep track of everything so he can focus his energy on delivering excellent content to his audiences without forgetting anything.

The main message I got here was, “Don’t wing it or you’ll forget something.”  I have found this to be true for myself. When stressed, rushed, or when I have a lot on my plate, I tend to dash around like mad worrying about what I’ve forgotten. Greg takes all the guesswork out of event preparation so, when he walks out the door or into the meeting room,  he knows he has everything he needs, including all the information.

Another key point was, “If you do something more than twice, make a template!” How many times have I reinvented the same wheel I invented yesterday, when a quick copy and paste with a few edits would have done the same job, and saved me loads of time!

Checklists for packing, templates for phone calls, structures for managing income and expenses, and many more were shared. I’m sure he would share if you asked, but, of course, everyone’s is going to be unique. So my to-do list after this jam-packed and informative webinar was “START!” Make a checklist; start a template. You don’t have to have his extensive setup today, but get started, and continue to tweak and develop each one to perfection.

Invest the time to create a system so you always look professional, and can worry about the stressful stuff that’s outside your control.
