Last July I took a big step and attended my first NSA convention in Washington D.C.  I had heard that attending the national convention would be a game changer for me, but honestly I didn’t really believe it would be that great.  At the risk of overselling the national convention – if you are serious about making the most of your speaking/coaching/training career … find a way to get to Phoenix this July.

I found members from across the country (and the world) who were so kind and generous and willing to help me become the speaker I hope to be.  I was wowed by the presentations, inspired by the speakers, entertained by the stagecraft and felt like I had been immersed in a Speaker Master Class of the highest order.  I enjoyed it and learned so much that I found a way to go to the Winter Conference in Austin this year. While I can’t go this July to Phoenix,  I definitely plan to Florida next July for Influence 2017.

NSA staff and volunteers work hard all year long to make the convention a valuable experience for all – new and established members alike.  One of the biggest lessons I learned is that I don’t know what I don’t know, but there are great people in NSA who will help me figure it all out.  If you are able to go, please be sure to let me know your experience.
